MEMORANDUM March 28, 1970 TO: Stelle Group Members FROM: Gail Kieninger RE: Election of Trustees Enclosed is the Ballot for
the election of the Trustees of The Stelle Group. Vote for five candidates only.
All ballots must be postmarked no later than April 7, 1970. For those of you who have
misplaced your copy of the PARMCAM minutes of October 18, 1970, I am
presenting here Richard’s answer to the request for his definition of the
function of the Trustees: “Richard
stated that the State of Illinois requires Trustees because they are charged
with the proper administration of a not-for-profit corporation which can
accumulate large amounts of capital. The Trustees are responsible to the
State for the conduct of the whole group; therefore , they have to be aware
of what is going on within the organization. He said that another principal
job of the Trustees is to try to anticipate the needs of a growing
organization. “Another
function of the Trustees is that Richard, as a representative of the
Brotherhoods , uses them personally as a sounding board and advisory counsel
for putting into effect those things that the Brotherhoods require. Manpower
capabilities must be evaluated , and ways and means of manning the group’s
programs must be agreed upon. The other Trustees are not directly responsible
to Richard but are personally responsible to God’s program. “The
Trustees also have to try to evaluate issues and define them and see that
issues are presented for referendum. Also, they must see that candidates
state their opinions on issues. Richard said that we will have to elect
candidates on our own evaluation until about 1980 or so , after which the
Brotherhoods will directly give Their stamp of approval to all candidates for
election. “Richard
said that he does not see the Board of Trustees as representatives or a
council of representatives. Their main function is to conduct the day-to-day
operation of the corporation and to help bring into effect the expectations
of the Brotherhoods.” Gail Kieninger Secretary , Board of
Trustees end. |
