The Stelle Group
STELLE, ILLINOIS 60919 March 1st, 1989 Dear Friends and Members, After several previous
attempts to peacefully resolve its legal entanglements with Richard Kieninger
and the three persons who comprised the “Stelle Members Committee for Truth,”
The Stelle Group received a favorable reply to its last settlement
initiative. This, in turn, led to an out-of-court resolution of the problem.
We are pleased to make known that this lawsuit is behind us. One element of our written
settlement agreement provides for Richard to send a particular letter to
persons on The Stelle Group’s mailing list, a letter that you probably have
already received. In this letter Richard states, “The Stelle Group is no
longer based on THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER or on any association with me....” It
is very true that we no longer have an association with Richard Kieninger.
However, The Stelle Group is still very clearly based upon THE ULTIMATE
FRONTIER, as much as (if not more than) it has always been. The Stelle Group
has never presented itself as a Brotherhood, nor as a Mundane School of the
secret Brotherhoods. Further, The Stelle Group does not claim to have a
personal, direct contact with any of the ancient, mystic Brotherhoods, nor
have we ever known that it ever did. Rather, The Stelle Group offers (as it
always has) an introduction to the teachings of the Brotherhoods as described
in THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER. It also provides services designed to aid and
inspire an individual to act on these teachings, and it works within a
community environment in which individual efforts to pursue “the ultimate
frontier” are supported. We also operate schools for children and carry on
technical research work that is appropriate to our purpose. Quite clearly,
The Stelle Group continues to pursue the same works and purposes that it
always has. In Richard’s own words, the
preface of THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER states, “In effect, this book
is an introduction to the activities of the Brotherhoods,
and it has been cast as a biography because it allows me to quote directly
from the mouths of several emissaries of the Brotherhoods... (Richard’s)
relationship with the Brotherhoods is a fascinating tale in itself, but his personal
history is subordinate to the main subject material.”
That “main subject material” is an introduction to the activities and
teachings of the Brotherhoods; and, regardless of Richard’s “personal
history,” the “main subject material” rings true and authentic. Results from
our ongoing investigations reinforce The Stelle Group’s commitment to the
philosophy that THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER credits to “emissaries of the
Brotherhoods.” Dozens of times, in years
past, Richard addressed the membership of The Stelle Group and said, “I’ve
already told you everything you need to know to carry on with The Stelle
Group’s work. All that’s left for you now is to do it.” We are. As specifically worded in
the compromise settlement agreement, we “do not accept, do not condone, and
do not ratify any statement in” Richard’s letter. For those who desire more
background information, or who wish to learn why we don’t condone Richard’s
letter, we are happy to respond to specific inquiries. However, rather than
dwelling on what is past, we are glad to have this conflict behind us,
grateful that we are now able to concentrate more fully on the work that The
Stelle Group has been committed to for the past 25 years. We regret any confusion
that may have resulted because of the separation between Richard and the
Trustees and Members of The Stelle Group. All of us here have very real
empathy for the feelings that were evoked by this situation, feelings that we
experienced ourselves. Now, for The Stelle Group, this situation has become
just another stage in our evolution, as we remain committed to our longstanding
aims. In THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER
the Master in the school room was reported to have said, “...as much as you
are with Us, We are with you.” It is very likely that this admonition may
apply to all of us, organizations and individuals alike. We wish Richard and
his followers the very best in any constructive pursuits. Any positive and
noteworthy accomplishment will benefit us all, no matter who or what agency
