Dear Community,

Re:  Bob Machiz’ latest letter asking for support (see above)

I applaud most of the current actions being taken by the TSG organization to try and remedy their current cash flow situation. The move to re-locate the offices and school, the support given by the Adelphi members, and the selfless dedication to their work by such people as Heather Norris, Pam Campau, and the teachers, are all examples of the internal work I referred to in my first letter. I am impressed that so many initiatives have been undertaken so promptly.

However, there are still two points that concern me. The first, is that the people who are voluntarily making the most sacrifices, are the very ones that RK said were doing their jobs the best, such as Heather and the teachers etc. It is a mark of their dedication that they are still prepared to serve without pay if necessary. Yet, there is no mention of like offers of sacrifice coming from the highest paid officials, namely Malcolm and Machiz, who reportedly make a comfortable $75,000 between them, and who, in RK’s opinion, were not doing very much to earn such salaries. Certainly, if the schools are suffering and the teachers can t even be paid, some sort of adjustment in these salaries would seem appropriate.

Secondly, I am yet distressed that the blame for this entire situation is constantly placed on RK and the three ladies. It feels to me like Robert is trying to create a “paper trail” of accusations via these letters in preparation for TSG’s upcoming lawsuit against the women. He repeatedly states that they are the cause of the decline in revenue, preparing the way for a case for “damages.” I have to challenge such statements, for I feel that people are not as gullible as all that. The TSG readership is among some of the most well-read and intelligent people anywhere. I think this is an issue of FREE SPEECH. For the Board of Trustees to get an injunction against the ladies, or RK, or whoever has something they want to say is tantamount to the kind of actions we have been taught to expect from the fundamentalists.

I want to hear it all, from every source, so that I can determine for myself how I wish to respond. I resent TSG, or anyone else attempting to withhold information or communications from me. I think the TSG Board of Trustees is far exceeding their appropriate limits.

I am distressed that anyone in this issue is being sued. It seems that all of this can and should be handled internally by the members and supporters of the Group. Instead of injunctions, I would prefer to see the TSG newsletter open up to an open discussion for it’s readers, printing all letters and comments from everyone who has a viewpoint. Instead of limiting the publication of the newsletter, I would like to see it go out twice a month if necessary to keep everyone informed. The members don’t really know what is going on. If the Trustees have nothing to be ashamed of, or to hide, then by letting everyone have their say publicly, they would be more likely to enhance their image, gain greater respect and further support for their schools and organization as a whole. This could end their cash crunch.

Again, thank you for listening.
