Amplification
of My Remarks at the October
5th Community Meeting by R. Kieninger Many people coming to Stelle
underestimate just how much psychological and emotional effort is required to
uplift their personal attitudes and mental habits in order to improve their
character and enhance their likelihood of achieving Initiation. I believe
they come to Stelle unconsciously expecting to somehow develop their
hoped-for advancement with great rapidity and ease rather then merely being
shown techniques for self-improvement and being provided with appropriate
challenges here. Upon arrival they may struggle valiantly for awhile only to
discover that their attempts at spiritual growth and character development
show scant progress and that every little advance accomplished is literally a
painful process. Their daily confrontations with self-evaluation as well as
the inherently slow development of human character all too often
result in abandonment of the effort to improve oneself, but this produces a
sense of inner guilt and hypocrisy because they are no longer doing what they
ostensibly came here for. There is no justification for being in Stelle if
one does not continually strive for personal excellence and for serving the
Brotherhoods. The participant who ceases to work toward self-improvement
feels anger when reminded that he or she is not living up to the standards
for membership. Complaints that the members of The Stelle Group are unloving
are heard from a participant when he is not excused for his lack of
determination to adhere to Stelle principles and to the rigors of
self-improvement. The people who fall away from a determined self-discipline
to uplift themselves may have had an unrealistic expectation of becoming
almost Christ-like within a short period of time, and they may be especially
unforgiving of themselves for not achieving more toward their goal. Guilt
and unworthiness are self-imposed, and they combine to make the person feel
unlovable and to react with angry defensiveness against any hint from inside
the group which calls for maintenance of high standards in Stelle. This
shortcoming within is usually projected outward upon some person or agency
inside the group who represents authority which should be heeded. The person
who has stopped striving would like to remove The Ultimate Frontier
from its position of setting expectations of performance for everyone. Then
they could feel more comfortable with themselves and just peacefully remain
in this nice community among all these un loving” people. Participants who have an
emotional problem assimilating some aspect of the philosophy of the
Brotherhoods or who disagree with the direction that the group majority is
pursuing in order to accomplish the goals of The Stelle Group will naturally
have difficulty putting their energies toward further growth of the
community. They wish to stand pat and consolidate what has already been
accomplished for their use. The courage, enthusiasm, and determination needed
to overcome all obstacles to expansion are naturally missing in them; so they
inescapably block the costly and demanding obligations to make preparations
for future members’ housing and employment in Stelle. Those who choose to
stand pat are threatened by The Ultimate Frontier’s call to do for
others and to prepare for the future. This reluctance to exert themselves for
something greater than themselves manifests as expressed fears and doubts
about my authenticity, the reality of the existence of Brotherhoods, the
probability of economic collapse and Armageddon, and the absence of hundreds
of highly-evolved Egos and millions of dollars from Stelle. They seem to want
to reserve a whole-hearted contribution until other members establish that the
group will indeed be a roaring success. There is nothing to lose and
everything to gain in forging ahead with the greatest opportunity ever placed
before you to build yourselves and the beginning of the Nation of God. If
you intend to let doubts and avoidance of adversity dominate your attitudes
in life, then please fade quietly out of the Stelle Program. You’re only
standing in the way of progress and frustrating the people in Stelle who have
learned to achieve the rewards of striving for Egoic growth and the building
of Stelle. Positive attitudes stem from disciplined thought and a
determination to achieve excellence, and certainly do not stem from carping,
blame-shifting, excuse-making, and emotional displays of fear and anger. One of the principal advantages
of joining in spiritual community is the mutual encouragement derived from
the examples of fellow participants who are working through the same problems
and keeping at it. Virtually every difficulty each person must confront and
work through relates to personal shortcomings and his culturally-instilled
neuroses. Everyone is entitled to a short breather after each onslaught
against his entrenched bad attitudes. He occasionally needs to re-evaluate
his direction and rededicate his efforts to tackle his reformation, but a
person loses forward momentum if he takes a protracted recess. It is expected
that a Stelle member never stop his daily Great Virtues
retrospection/analysis, and he should use the Violet Screen Meditation ten
minutes every day. But many Stelle people have arrogantly or carelessly
stopped using such basic tools for social and personal improvement. Instead
of being good examples for Associates and thus providing support and
encouragement for newcomers, they openly approach recent arrivals with
warnings that no one at Stelle has the right to tell them that they must give
up old habits nor should they let older members lay “guilt trips” on them for
not adhering to principles. Incredibly, they make a conscious effort to
welcome new arrivals with tales of their resentments at being confronted by
the Membership Committee for their transgressions against other people and
proclaim their perception that the group is unloving and unforgiving of their
lack of effort toward self-uplift and non-contribution to building Stelle.
Thereby they try to enlist the new arrivals’ sympathy and support for their
angry, negative, do-nothing behavior. Some members have even tried to induce
new arrivals to move backward into Old Order, destructive activities like
listening to rock music, using alcohol and marijuana, and joining in
personal perversion. while claiming that everyone is Stelle does such things
undercover. There are karmic repercussions due for turning away new arrivals
and undermining them. Such actions serve only Evil. Each person is entitled to find
his own friends and make fresh starts in Stelle without being accosted with
stories about whom they must avoid or “watch out for “in Stelle by any
person here. For a newcomer to be besieged by a rush of various malcontents
to join their party against whomever and whatever should be disgusting enough
to turn a new Associate away from the Brotherhoods’ Program for this
lifetime. What perversity is it that causes a person who can’t or won’ t try
to fit into the Brotherhoods’ Plan for Stelle attempt to turn away everyone
he can from achieving success here? Obviously, the people in Stelle who
decide to stop striving for self-improvement, or who contribute little or
nothing in tithes and labor, or who dissuade newcomers from full
participation are not two-headed creeps. They are personable, friendly, and
have an interest in mankind above the average American; but those
characteristics alone do not build great civilizations. I do not personally
dislike them, and I have considerable affection for quite a few of them, but
they undermine my work and the Brotherhoods’ Plan; so we cannot afford to
harbor them in our corporation which is dedicated to a specific goal which
they will not positively contribute to. I abhor any direct actions which
provocateurs could possibly escalate into the appearance of a witch hunt.
Each person who is a drag on the efforts of The Stelle Group usually knows
that he or she is a drag, which is why I could invite them to go away quietly.
If you must invoke the sympathy and forebearance of your friends in order to
take them out of Stelle with you, then so be it. People who would be thus
persuaded obviously do not recognize where their best life-long interest lay
anyway. It is better to have only people pulling concertedly in one
direction than always being scattered and brought to a standstill by those
who refuse to exert themselves personally or cooperatively. To popularly elect an officer
and then soon characterize him as an enemy of the people appears to be an
excuse to resist what he was ostensibly elected to do—build Stelle. Or is it
that the best qualified people are selected as officers to build Stelle by
themselves so that the rank and file can be left alone while the officers are
expected to do it all alone without support? In either event, the constant
carping against the officers supposedly ‘laying their trip on the group”
appears to me as a trumped up justification for resisting any forward
motion. This stalemate cannot continue. The logjam must be broken I am
suggesting peaceful, self-initiated withdrawal of those who have shown they
do not belong in Stelle. Most Americans would likely find Stelle a nice
community in which to settle, but the Brotherhoods have an urgent and important
purpose in having started this community. When we ask some of our friends and
neighbors to leave Stelle because they are not convinced of the community’s
role for mankind does not mean w dislike them or consider them enemies. They
simply are in the wrong community and should be aided in leaving here as
comfortably as possible. We should leave the door open for their easy return
should they become enthused about the Brotherhoods at some future date. Of
course, there is always the option of getting back on the ball and pursuing
diligently whatever is necessary for Egoic growth. Emotional maturity,
co-operation, and eagerness to serve Christ’s Plan must be goals of each
Stelle member. Those who know how to do just that are always willing to help
the earnest aspirant find his way successfully. If anyone is not sure whether
he or she belongs in Stelle, please contact me. I will discuss my opinion of
your personal situation privately and confidentially. |
