December 16, 1986 Dear Friends, I read The Ultimate Frontier 12 years ago and have worked with Richard as a member of The Adelphi Organization since it began. From the first, I have known that it would be years before I could verify certain information in the book. I made and continue to make the choice to act as if the book is true. I have little to lose if I’m wrong and a Universe to gain if I’m right. I’ve tried to live my life so I win either way and have had 12 wonderful years of working and growing with Richard and other participants. I want Richard to continue in a leadership position in the two organizations he founded specifically and solely to implement his tasks and roles in the Brotherhood’s Work, as described in The Ultimate Frontier. Richard himself admits that he is far from perfect and will never live up to anyone’s ideals or expectations in regard to him, but I’ll take the flawed, imperfect Richard any day to the current leadership. Richard at his worst is a good man dedicated to carrying out the tasks outlined for him by his Teachers. His record of service and achievement stands on its own. I support and stand by him in this time of crisis in which the Brotherhood’s programs are threatened by those who would focus on and exploit Richard’s human. flaws in an attempt to turn members against him and take over his tasks. Richard has been vilified for taking the “low road” by singling out certain individuals for criticism for not following his Teachers’ suggestions and heeding their warnings; from my observations and experience he is right on center, and I applaud his courage in giving voice to harsh realities rather than putting forth glib, conciliatory phrases which would gain him support but mask ugly truths. Of particular concern to me have been public revelations regarding the use of dangerous occult practices by group members. There have been admissions of involvement with spirit guides and counselors and doing psychic surveillance on others and interfering with bonds and linkages between others without their knowledge or permission. Richard’s Teachers have told him that these energy channels have long been used by sorcerers, and such interference itself constitutes sorcery. These practices, even when done under the guise of a seminar exercise or “research project,” make the practitioners open channels for Black Mentalists and nether entities. Richard has warned us for years about such practices. Yet in a recent memo from a Stelle Trustee, it was suggested that we now could feel free to test for ourselves, in the stance of “Scientist—Philosophers,” the techniques we have previously avoided based on information Richard received from his Teachers. I will gladly talk with anyone who wants to know my experiences and perceptions want to know what your feelings are and what questions you have. I have a 24-hour answering machine.
