A New Chapter

Stelle Letter October/November 1986

On October 6, 1986, Richard Kieninger resigned from all of his offices in The Stelle Group including member of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Board, Administrator of the Philadelphia Fund, and member of The Stelle Group. Richard submitted a similar resignation to The Adelphi organization.

In a recent interview, Richard said: “Although I find it difficult to leave because there are so many people here that I love, I am confident that the torch is being passed into many capable hands.”

The resignations come at the end of five months of in-depth discussion about several concerns which the Boards of both organizations have with a number of actions taken by Richard. Both Boards sought psychological and legal counseling to help develop alternative approaches and solutions. We discussed the choices with Richard and all of us agreed that a resignation was appropriate under the circumstances.

In the course of these discussions, Richard has told us that Philadelphia is not an existing island in the Pacific Ocean and that the place that Dr. White pointed out to Richard on a map was the Dallas area. The City of Philadelphia is still expected to be the first city in the Nation of God after the turn of the century. Because the Philadelphia Fund was created for the purpose of buying the Island in the Pacific and donations were received for that purpose, The Stelle Group and The Adelphi Organization are evaluating the proper disposition of their respective Philadelphia Funds.

The process of the last five months has not been easy for anyone involved. The membership in Dallas has been involved in meetings on nearly a weekly basis for the last two months. However, at meetings in both Dallas and Stelle, the response of the memberships of both organizations was to renew our personal commitments to proceed with the work as outlined in The Ultimate Frontier. Most members reaffirmed the sense of meaning and purpose that they received, and continue to receive, from reading The Ultimate Frontier. One member expressed it this way: “It’s what you do with the (Brotherhood’s) message that is most important.”

We will continue with our adult education programs, the schools for children, the expansion of Stelle as a community dedicated to human development, and the promotion of technologies that enhance self-reliance. We are determined to move forward with the work that we have started.

The members are grateful to have the information that Richard has provided in his writings, for having started the communities of Stelle and Adelphi, and for the special people we have met along the way. These things have touched us deeply. We wish Richard all of the best in the next chapter of his life.
