Do You Achieve Cosmic Consciousness When You Die? Question: Cosmic
consciousness is not something that you achieve by dying, is it? Answer: Right,
it is something that you carry with you. Transition is only the shedding of a
physical body form. You are Egoically no different from the moment before you
die to the moment after you have died. Nothing has happened to your Ego. You
are still the same person. The way that you lived your life, what you thought
about while you were alive—these are not going to be substantially different
just by going through transition. You are not granted
any great body of knowledge by dying that you did not have before. The onset
of cosmic consciousness tends to be rather gradual. If a person goes through
transition who was the type who frequently had base thoughts, he will find
himself quite naturally among people who think the same things as he did—and
that is on the Lower Astral Plane. Other persons who essentially entertained
loving, cheerful and helping thoughts may upon going
through transition find themselves among others who think likewise on
