Who Is the False Prophet? Question: Could
you tell us something about the false Prophet who is
predicted to come in the Bible? Richard: He
is a man who is alive today who, whether by himself
or with the help of a number of people, will stage miraculous powers so as to
gain the support of many people who are very afraid of all the troubles going
on in the world. Religion, particularly Christianity, is falling apart at the
seams so far as its ability to attract and hold new
members, and this breakdown of formal belief will lead to a grand
superstition wherein this individual, because of his ability to stage
miracles, will be given credence as a divine person. This will lead to the
type of state worship that we saw in Nazi Germany which
practically elevated Hitler to a position of a demigod, much in the same way
the Caesars were worshipped back in Roman times. My guess is that he will not be associated
with any church, but be someone who will be outside of the jurisdiction of
the church and be primarily secular in origin. He will have a great appeal in
being able to unite people in face of all of the shocks that the world will
be suffering such as the economic upheavals and the famines that will occur. The area that is now the |
