Why Is Advancement So Difficult?

Question:   In THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER, you state that evil is of human origin. Would you please comment on why we are having such a hard time uplifting ourselves?

Answer:     The greatest suppressor of Mankind is his own mental lethargy. It is much easier to drift than to think about why things happen as they do. We can’t blame all the evil in the world on Black Mentalists and other lower human entities, because everyone generates occasional negative thoughts. Individually, one can strive to eliminate his own negative thinking, but most people fail to do so. Blaming others for one’s problems is a common psychological fault of many people. Sometimes lack of courage inhibits a person’s progress. Those who step out of line in order to move forward often become the targets of people who are jealous or fearful of others moving ahead. People tend to accept what their parents told them rather than examine what they have been taught, because to question these teachings could make them liable to criticism or abuse from others. These are a few examples of ways that our own lassitude keeps us from progressing. (05-1971)
