Adam and
Eve Part of
the interpretation that they stumbled through in figuring out what Moses was
talking about, the Tree of Knowledge, which they were speaking about—this was
the fruit of the tree of knowledge that would set men free, but at the same time,
it would cause a great deal of turmoil within an individual and that was what
they were predicting. One must
be prepared to go through the pain and the suffering of dealing with
knowledge and knowing what is Truth—why we are here and where we are supposed
to go—that was really a kind of burden, but one which has such great rewards
that the burden was worth it. I read some books that would have been used by Egyptians that would describe this
idea. A serpent was considered a symbol of creation. The fruit, of course,
was a completion of something. So, here was the creator providing—you can see
the picture of a serpent climbing up a papyrus plant and there was presumably
a golden fruit which is available to mankind which
was made available on Earth by the creator or through creation. That what the original interpretation has been. (11-1985) |
