The way to break even the strongest nation is to contaminate their air, their food, and their water.




We are in a lot of trouble health-wise in America. Right now, the National Center for Disease Control reports that over thirty percent of all Americans are chronically ill. Con­trast that to fifty years ago, when the figure was around five or ten percent of the population. It is estimated that within this decade an astounding 50% of Americans will be chronically ill. This represents an enormous financial burden due to the underlying loss of our work-force and the inherent lowering of quality of life.


Presently, we have a completely inverted health/medical system. Because of it, we are dying like flies with cancer, heart disease, etc. Currently, our nation ranks 27th among civilized nations in survival despite spending more than twice per capita on health care than any other “civilized” nation.


When you buy typical American food and typical American life-style, you also buy into one of the worst possible prospects for health in the history of man.


The following paragraphs outline food-like substances that are routinely placed into foods but are dangerous. Foods containing these substances should not be consumed.


Refined flour was made available to large segments of the population by 1900s. At the start of World War II fewer than 68 percent of the men could pass the induction physical, a physical that 86 percent had passed in 1918. The Congress reacted (panicked) and created the Mandatory Enrichment Act to add “four nutrients to boost the food” value that had been reduced by removal of some twenty-two known nutrients by the white flour processing and milling techniques.


Excitotoxins, namely MSG and aspartame, are toxic chemicals that interfere with the neurological system of animals and humans. Excitotoxins play a critical role in the development of several neurological disorders including migraines, seizures, infections, abnormal neural development, certain endocrine disorders, neuro-psychiatric disorders, learning disorders in children, AIDS dementia, episodic violence, lyme borreliosis, hepatic encephalopathy, specific types of obesity, and especially the neuro-degenerative diseases, such as ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and olivoponto-cerebellar degeneration. The most common adverse reactions attributed to aspartame are headaches, dizziness, attention difficulties, memory loss, slurred speech and vision problems. This cluster of symptoms has become so common that it is actually referred to as “aspartame disease.”


The FDA has received the highest number of complaints about aspartame than any substance on sale anywhere in the United States in history. Countless independent studies have been published that warn against its use. In fact, the FDA, itself, refused to approve aspartame in the ‘70s because it produced seizures and brain tumors in lab animals.

The amount of these neurotoxins added to our food has increased enormously since their first introduction. Since 1948 the amount of MSG added to foods has doubled every decade. By 1972, 262,000 metric tons were being added to foods. Over 800 million pounds of aspartame have been consumed in various products since it was first approved. These food additives have nothing to do with preserving food or protecting its integrity. They are all used to alter the taste of food. MSG, also called hydrolyzed vegetable protein and natural flavoring, is used to enhance the taste of food. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener. These two toxins are present in almost all processed foods. In most cases they are being added in disguised forms, such as natural flavoring, spices, yeast extract, textured protein, soy protein extract, etc.


MSG is the sodium salt of glutamic acid. This amino acid is the most commonly used neurotransmitter in the brain. Glutamates, as neurotransmitters, exist in the extra-cellular fluid only in very, very small concentrations. When the concentration of this transmitter rises above this level, the neurons begin to fire abnormally. At higher concentrations, the cells undergo a specialized process of delayed cell death known as excito-toxicity; that is, they are excited to death.


From 1960 to 1976, there was virtually no change in the number of Americans who were overweight: roughly 24 percent of the population. However, from the mid 1980s to the present, this number has more than doubled to 54 percent! This coincides with the massive infusion of non-caloric chemical sweeteners and sugar-free “diet” foods that are eaten by close to three-quarters of the adult population.”

Sugar consumption in the USA has increased from twenty-six pounds to one hundred and thirty-five pounds per person per year during the last twenty years! Prior to the turn of this century (1887-1890), the average consumption was only five pounds per person per year! Cardiovascular disease and cancer were virtually unknown in the early 1900s.


A direct result of high sugar intake is an increase in saturated fatty acids in the blood, which depresses the oxygen transport system dramatically. Saturated fatty acids are “sticky” by nature, and when introduced into the vascular system, they clog arteries, increase the chance of stroke, diabetes, and definitively decrease athletic performance. Additionally, red blood cells stick together like a stack of dinner plates and move slower, delaying delivery of much-needed oxygen to muscle cells. This cellular hypoxia is the constant companion of numerous degenerative diseases. Continued high intake of simple dietary sugar over-stimulates or “burns out” normal, healthy pancreas and adrenal function, which directly results in adult-onset diabetes, cardiovascular complications, hypoglycemia, and chronic fatigue. Dietary sugars feed harmful intestinal yeasts, fungi, toxic organisms, and all forms of cellular cancer.


Because refined dietary sugars lack vitamins and minerals, they draw upon the body tissue micronutrient stores in order to be metabolized into the system. When these storehouses are depleted, metabolization of fatty acid and cholesterol are impeded, contributing to higher blood serum triglycerides and cholesterol, which promote obesity due to higher fatty acid storage around organs and in subcutaneous tissue folds. Increased obesity contributes to increased cholesterol levels by lowering resting metabolism. A lower resting metabolic rate has been implicated in feelings of fatigue or lack of energy, increased rate of aging, arthritis, and coronary heart disease.


The health dangers from regularly ingesting sugar are certain, given that simple sugars have been observed to aggravate asthma, muster mental illness, move mood swings, provoke personality changes, nourish nervous disorders, hurry heart disease, deliver diabetes, grow gallstones, hasten hypertension, and arthritis. In short, it will kill you!


Hydrogenated oils caused concern at the University of Maryland in 1979 when they cited an increased risk, above and beyond any other fat that occurs in nature, for cancer. They discovered that hydrogenated oils made the cell membrane very weak, increasing the likelihood of infiltration by viruses or bacterial antigens. In short, hydrogenated oils made the cells more vulnerable to any kind of attack. One of those attacks comes from excitotoxins. If you first consume a hydrogenated oil, which is in almost every potato chip, in almost every food that’s in a bag or a bottle or a box, listed as partially hydrogenated oil, then you have left your cell membranes weak in the face of the excitotoxins also contained in these same foods.


Normally, the cell puts up a defense by deforming itself in the area where a viral antigen, virus or bacterial antigen attempts to enter. But with hydrogenated oil in the cell membrane, it cannot deform and is easily penetrated. The cell membrane defends itself with a substance called phosphatidyl ethanolamine, which is found in egg yolks and soybeans. Since genetically engineered soybeans have less than half the ethanolamine of regular soybeans, they do little to bolster the immune system. Due to poor food sources of ethanolamine, we have no defense against the hydrogenated oil which dominates our food supply. Add the excitotoxins to this equation and you have a one-two punch that nobody can survive.


Canola oil was previously referred to as “LEAR oil” (“Low Erucic Acid Rapeseed”) or rapeseed oil. This name was recently changed to canola, a shortened form of Canadian oil. It contains high amounts of three undesirable substances: Erucic Acid, which can be harmful to humans, Glucosinolates, which have the damaging effect of inhibiting livestock growth, and cyanide-containing compounds called isothiocyanates, which inhibit the production of ATP in our bodies. ATP is the energy molecule that powers the body and keeps us healthy and young.


Rape oil was widely used in animal feeds in Great Britain between 1986 and 1991 at which time its use was discontinued. Most people remember the mad cow disease epidemic and that cows, pigs and sheep went blind, behaved insanely, attacked other animals and people and had to be destroyed. Reports at the time blamed the erratic behavior of livestock on a viral disease called scrapie (in sheep and pigs) and mad cow disease in cattle. However, when rape oil was removed from animal feed, ‘scrapie’ disappeared.


Rape oil, as metabolized in the body, produces the latex-like substance that causes the agglutination (clumping together) of red blood cells. Clumped red blood cells cannot squeeze through the tiny capillaries in the posterior of the eye and, therefore, cannot deliver oxygen to the mitochondria (the rod-shaped bodies in a cell that facilitate the metabolism of fats, sugars and proteins). Since glaucoma is the result of insufficient blood flow due to agglutination of the red blood cells and waste buildup on the cells and intercellular fluids, ingestion of rape over time may cause glaucoma. In this respect, glaucoma has much in common with hair loss, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and hearing problems.


The medical community is aware of a fatal degenerative disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ADL), which is caused by long-chain fatty acids—c22 (canola oil is a c22 long-chain fatty acid) to c28—building up and eventually destroying the protective sheath (myelin) surrounding our nerves. Even worse, a large percentage of the c22 molecules are changed to dangerous trans-fatty acids when heated above 320 degrees Fahrenheit, which always occurs during commercial processing. Despite manufacturer claims that their product is “expeller-pressed” or “cold-pressed” (no external heat source was applied), very high temperatures are still generated by the machinery and cause extensive damage.


Food irradiation produces a by-product of carcinogens, as was discovered during the 1960s. Irradiation also kills, along with food-borne bacteria, inherent vitamins, enzymes and a host of friendly bacteria needed in the human gut. This information led the FDA to eventually rescind its original approval. Given this and the fact that a CBS News poll found that 77 percent of Americans opposed food irradiation, it becomes a true oddity that the FDA lobbied Congress in 1997 to legalize the irradiation of beef. The FDA changed its mind due to public pressure to reduce food-borne illness resulting from specific types of E Coli bacteria. It was cheaper for the meat processing companies to irradiate foods than to comply with existing regulations! The alternative was to bombard the meat with upwards of ten kilograys of radiation. This was an easy decision for the FDA, as the same meat processors sat on its board.

Bovine growth hormone (bovine somatropin-BST) is a chemical that is used in cattle to increase milk production. The numerous human and animal health and economic concerns about its use include:


Cancer risks. Insulin-like Growth Factor I (IGF-1) is a hormone found at elevated levels in the milk derived from rBGH-injected cows. IGF-1 is known to survive in the digestive tract, plays a role in cancer in general, and may have significant effects on colon tumors in humans. Use of IGF-1 causes severe animal health problems, including a 50% risk increase of lameness (leg and hoof problem), over a 25% increase in the frequency of clinical mastitis (udder infections), and serious animal reproductive problems (including infertility, cystic ovaries and fetal loss).


Antibiotic resistance. Because rBGH use results in elevated mastitis levels, dairy farmers tend to use more antibiotics—residues of these drugs may end up in milk and dairy products. These residues may cause adverse (i.e. allergic) reactions in a few sensitive individuals and contribute to the growth of antibiotic resistance in bacteria, an ever- important human health problem.


Chlorine is associated with an increased risk of bowel, kidney and bladder cancer and higher levels of spina bifida. A Norwegian study of 141,000 births over three years found a fourteen percent increased risk of birth defects in areas with chlorinated water. Dr. Per Magnus, who carried out the Norwegian research, said: “This is an important finding because we know there are chemicals released by the action of chlorine on organic particles at treatment works. We have observed mutations in these chemicals which seem to tie up with mutations that are found in babies. We were in a unique position in Norway to make these observations because in some areas our water comes from the mountains and doesn’t require cleaning with chlorine.”


In Canada, at Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, researchers found that high levels of trihalomethanes, a by-product of chlorine in drinking water, significantly increased the risk of stillbirth. Chlorine is in the same chemical group as fluoride, which has been linked with cancer and osteoporosis. There is also a connection between fluoride and increased blood pressure and an increase in problems with the thyroid gland.


Organochlorines are produced by the chemical industry in huge amounts—millions of pounds per year—by releasing chlorine gas from salt and combining it with various organic chemicals. Over forty percent of the chlorine in the US goes to make PVC (vinyl), which produces toxic chemicals during its manufacture, use and disposal.


The most well-known of the organochlorine “hormone mimickers” are dioxins. Dioxins are created by burning various chemicals, pesticides and commercial lumber; from medical, municipal and hazardous wastes; and from metal smelting and paper-making. Many cities allow municipal sewage sludge containing dioxin to be used as fertilizer. (Cigarette smoke also contains dioxins.)


These chemicals are present throughout the environment, but particularly in animal tissues. Because they build up in fatty tissues, and are not destroyed by digestive processes, the more you eat, the more you carry. Animals higher up the food chain, such as eagles, wolves and humans, carry the burden of all the organochlorines from the meat they have eaten.


Fluoride compounds which are put in water (fluoridation), toothpaste and supplement tablets (including some vitamins) were never tested for safety before approval. Recent independent research by scientists not associated with dental trade organizations has shown the following:


Neurotoxic and lowers IQ: In 1995, neurotoxicologist and former Director of Toxicology at Forsyth Dental Center in Boston, Dr. Phyllis Mullenix published research showing that fluoride accumulates in the brains of animals when exposed to moderate levels. Damage to the brain occurred and the behavior patterns of the animals was adversely affected. Offspring of pregnant animals receiving relatively low doses of fluoride showed permanent brain effects which were seen as hyperactivity (ADD-like symptoms). Young animals and adult animals given fluoride experienced the opposite effect—hypoactivity or sluggishness. The toxic effects of fluoride on the central nervous system was subsequently confirmed by previously classified government research. Two new epidemiological studies which tend to confirm fluoride’s neurotoxic effects on the brain have shown that children exposed to higher levels of fluoride had lower IQs.


Carcinogenic: The Department of Health in New Jersey found that bone cancer in male children was between two and seven times greater in areas where water was fluoridated. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) researchers confirmed the bone cancer-causing effects of fluoride at low levels in an animal model. A new study has shown that fluoridation of water is linked to uterine cancer deaths.


Causes Initial Stages of Skeletal Fluorosis: Fluoride can cause severe skeletal fluorosis at high levels. Chronic, long-term exposure to levels of fluoride commonly found in water and food in the U.S. can cause the beginning stages of skeletal fluorosis including: pains in bones and joints, sensations of burning, pricking, and tingling in the limbs, muscle weakness, chronic fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, reduced appetite, backache, osteoarthritis, etc. In fact, decades of ingestion of fluoride from water and other common sources can be expected to cause these symptoms in large numbers of people based on calculations of fluoride intake and excretion. Very few health-care practitioners are capable of diagnosing such a condition because health-care practitioners are not trained to recognize nor to test for chronic poisoning due to fluoride.

Causes Birth Defects and Perinatal Deaths: A toxicologist in the United Kingdom recently found that perinatal deaths in a fluoridated area was 15% higher than in neighboring non-fluoridated areas. The fluoridated area had a higher socio-economic status and would have been expected to have fewer perinatal deaths. The fluoridated area also had a 30% higher rate of Down’s Syndrome. Chile banned fluoridation because of research by the world-renowned researcher Dr. Albert Schatz, which showed a link to infant deaths due to fluoridation.


Impairs Immune System: Independent research has shown that fluoride impairs the functioning of the immune system. In the United States, where toxic fluoride compounds are regularly added to water and given to children since the 1960s and 1970s, we are beginning to see an overwhelming number of people of that generation who are developing chronic immune system disorders.


Causes Acute Adverse Reactions: Several double-blind studies have shown that fluoridated water can often cause acute adverse reactions. Some of the effects seen in double-blind studies include: gastrointestinal symptoms, stomatitis, joint pains, polydipsia, headaches, visual disturbances, muscular weakness, and extreme tiredness.


Increases Lead and Arsenic Exposure: Fluoride compounds put into water are often contaminated with lead, arsenic and radio nuclides since the fluoride compounds are toxic waste by-products which come from pollution scrubbers in fertilizer plants and from the aluminum and the nuclear material processing industries.


Contributes to the Development of Repetitive Stress Injury: A clinical study in New Zealand showed that fluoride ingestion may be a contributing factor in the development of Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) since such ingestion may encourage the development of apatite crystal formation. Elimination of fluoride plus regular supplementation of magnesium appeared to help RSI patients considerably.


Causes Permanent Disfigurement of the Teeth in Many Children: A very large and increasing number of children are experiencing dental fluorosis, which is a permanent adverse structural change to the teeth.


Inhibits Key Enzymes: As fluoride builds up in different parts of the body over decades it can disrupt the actions of many key enzymes. This fact has been known for a long time.


Causes Large Numbers of Acute Poisonings: Fluoride is an extremely poisonous substance at exceptionally low doses and has caused a large number of acute poisonings. This is why a poison warning is now required on fluoridated toothpastes sold in the U.S.


Banned in Many Countries: Fluoridation is not legal or not used in the overwhelming number of countries including industrialized countries.

Psychostimulants such as amphetamines and amphetamine-like drugs like Ritalin and Adderall are being dispensed to over one million of America’s children every day at the insistence of teachers and school administrators.


Two months before Prozac was approved for the market there had already been twenty-seven  deaths from controlled clinical trials. Fifteen were from suicides, six by overdose, four by gunshot and two by drowning. All were confirmed to be directly related to taking Prozac. The FDA safety review discovered that Lilly failed to report information about psychotic episodes during Prozac’s testing. The FDA did nothing to reprimand Lilly for omitting this data.

Ritalin (methylpenidate) causes more problems than it helps. Rather than stare social problems straight in the face and try to determine why certain children are anxious, depressed, irritable or noisy troublemakers, the tendency in this culture is to try to drug the problems away. What if the cause is simply that most children have minds and spirits of their own?


“Prozac may exacerbate certain depressive symptoms and signs. Certain clinical risks of mild to moderate severity did appear to be associated with the use of Prozac, as determined by review of the safety data in the New Drug Application submission. These potential risks include intensification of the vegetative signs and symptoms of depression … If the drug is marketed, post-marketing studies should be required to assess more precisely the severity of these potential risks.”

Adderall, the new wonder drug for Attention Deficit Disorder, contains twenty-five percent Amphetamine Asparate, twenty-five percent Amphetamine Sulfate, twenty-five percent Dextroamphetamine Saccharate, and twenty-five percent Dextroamphetamine Sulfate. Before being prescribed for children, Adderall was prescribed as an appetite suppressant for the dangerously obese.

Studies of Ritalin have shown:


·        The unwanted side effects are (commonly) problems with eating and sleeping, possible negative effects on cognition (diminished creativity) and self-image, and rare or disputable increases in motor or verbal tics.


·        No long-term evidence of improvement of children taking Ritalin. No improvement in academic outcome can be attributed solely to its effects, no decrease in anti-social behavior or arrest rates, and only small effects on learning and achievement.


·        No neurological, physiological, or biochemical means to predict or determine response to Ritalin.


·        Ritalin does not improve complex skills such as reading, athletic ability, and social behavior. Grades may improve, but Ritalin cannot correct a learning disability. Ritalin does not improve significant emotional problems.


·        In 1971, the World Health Organization concluded that Ritalin, amphetamine (chief ingredient in Adderall), and methamphetamine were pharmacologically similar among themselves and to cocaine in their abuse patterns.


·        In 1968, Sweden banned the use of Ritalin because of potential for abuse of the drug.


·        Novartis (Ciba), the manufacturer of Ritalin, through a front group it subsidizes, CH.A.D.D. (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder), lobbied the DEA to reclassify the drug from a Schedule II to a Schedule III. CH.A.D.D. claimed that Ritalin was “a beneficial and relatively benign medication.” The DEA refused.


·        The International Narcotics Review Board: “Methylphenidate (Ritalin), due to its high abuse potential, was one of the first substances to be placed under international control in Schedule II (along with morphine, opium, heroin, cocaine, and barbiturates).”


There seem to be some excellent reasons behind the enormously effective campaign to keep so many children in these very particularly distorted states of consciousness at all times. First of all, the effects of these drugs are extremely cunning. We already knew that, of course, from the overwhelming acceptance they have met with in the world. Their level of operation requires a certain amount of applied consciousness to detect, in one sense. That is—there is no overt distortion of the basic sensory apparatus—no hallucinations or heavy nausea, for example. But what is fairly immediately and horribly apparent is the effect of these drugs on the emotional and mental root of self-conscious awareness. These chemicals act as a kind of heavy pesticide applied directly to the beautiful flower of self-awareness at the core of every human being. They paralyze the growing tips of our individuality itself.


“The thousand-and-one subtle antennae with which we receive and translate incoming sensory data are lopped off. The wondrous and infinite filaments of sensation are coated, practically undetectably, with a brutal and vicious chemical film. All genuine subtle electromagnetic interactions with life are replaced by a false chemical signature, a one-dimensional sensation of crude “well-being”. And this one-dimensionality, this flatland-stupor of phony superficial OK-ness, is a state of perfect working zombification. It works so insidiously well because anyone under the influence of these drugs can walk and talk and work and appear to relate to other human beings. These drugs create a peculiar sub-rosa mini-lobotomy in which the only thing obviously missing is the inner relating factor: the soul. It is the human soul which receives all incoming signals, relates and integrates them into that living whole we call an individual self. These drugs then, technically, literally, manage to go quite far toward separating the soul from the body.

Unfortunately, a direct chemical assault is one which very few adults can withstand, let alone utterly defenseless little children. Children, in their vulnerable unfinished condition, can have no serious resistance to whatever they are being told while in a perpetual twilight zone of drug-induced soul-paralysis.”

There are millions of Americans who rely on mind-dulling, anti-tension drugs and tranquilizers, and millions more who suffer lassitude and chronic fatigue from too much white sugar and/or tobacco use. Have we so enfeebled ourselves with these brain-crippling substances that we can’t stop putting them into our bodies and thereby continue to retard our advancement and that of our youngsters? We have given our personal responsibility a holiday. Rather than avoid what is unhealthy for us, we want someone to fix it so we can still have it, regardless of the consequences. Only one person can change that—and you are the one!
