THE NON-RESIDENT ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

The members of the community of Stelle wish you a very happy and bountiful 1980! We have many exciting plans for the new year. One of these is the establishment of a new level of participation in Stelle—the Nonresident-Associate Program. We feel it is a very important step in accomplishing our goal of building the city of Stelle. In The Ultimate Frontier, Dr. White spoke to Richard about our community:

When it starts growing, its increase will be phenomenal because the Brothers will pour thousands of persons into it as quickly as the new members can be assimilated.

The key word is “assimilated.” Webster defines this, “to absorb into the cultural tradition of a population or group.” Our immediate goal, then, is to set into motion those things required for assimilating large numbers of people into Stelle. The Nonresident-Associate Program combines several existing programs into a single comprehensive and coordinated program for facilitating the assimilation of members into the community.

NONRESIDENT ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

The Nonresident-Associate Program has been designed to assist persons who are interested in eventually participating in the community of Stelle. For these people, there are usually one or two main concerns which make their plans “eventual” rather than immediate. One is that a person may feel he needs more in-depth information before he can make the level of commitment required of resident associates. The other consideration is the need to fulfill commitments already made in other areas of his life; for example, in his job, or schooling, or in a relationship with another person.

There is another major area for which the Nonresident-Associate Program was designed. Many persons have read The Ultimate Frontier and have become intensely interested in the philosophy of the Brotherhoods and Stelle. Many of these people will go on to become Members of The Stelle Group. But what about the people who cannot, for personal reasons, now or even ever, move to Illinois? These people still contribute their positive precipitations and financial support to the Brotherhoods’ program. In a sense, they are very much a part of our life—our family. The Nonresident-Associate Program seeks to formally recognize the contribution that such people have made to assist Stelle and to their own Egoic advancement.

THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER STUDY GUIDE

Though a small book, The Ultimate Frontier contains a tremendous amount of information concerning most aspects of life. Just recently this information has been extracted by category and put into a format for easy learning. We feel the benefits from such a study guide will be great. Even reading The Ultimate Frontier time and again does not guarantee that a person is familiar with its contents. The phrase, “I don’t remember reading that before,” is a familiar one. In The Ultimate Frontier Study Guide, the answers to the questions are listed on the back of each page. It will inform you right away of the correct answers. It will be very reassuring to know that a person really understands what was presented in The Ultimate Frontier, and has a solid foundation of what we consider essential data before moving to Stelle. We feel this is an exciting and important adjunct of our assimilation program.

ON BECOMING AN INITIATE TAPE SERIES

This is a series of twelve tape cassettes by Richard Kieninger, who discusses the ways and means to Egoic growth and Brotherhood. The topics covered are: The Brotherhoods, The Law of Karma, Balance, Physical Health, Emotional Maturity, The Ten Qualities of Mind, The Twelve Great Virtues, Mental Precipitation, Prosperity, Cosmic Consciousness and Controlling Our Environment. Each tape is supplemented with written material, and a study guide is being designed especially for the Nonresident-Associate Program. Can one measure the benefits from such a program? Just one person—you—growing steadily toward the attainment of First Degree can change the world for the betterment of all mankind. As new members join us in the community of Stelle, the first evidences of change are in attitudes which are reflected in thoughts and actions. These are manifest in the everyday aspects of living: the hours you spend at your job, the way you treat children, how you relate to other people, how your financial obligations are handled, the humor you use—everything. These are the key areas of assimilation, and it is the conscious striving toward Egoic growth that will allow many new people to be incorporated into life in Stelle in a gentle and harmonious movement. Building two cities will not serve the Brotherhoods’ purposes unless the “city within ourselves” is completed also.

STAFF CORRESPONDENT

Because you cannot be with us physically just yet, your questions, insights, and even peccadilloes cannot be shared with us over lunch, at a community meeting, or during a midnight chat. Therefore, as a Nonresident-Associate, you will be assigned a Staff Correspondent, who will answer any questions you might have on the philosophy or the community. Though your challenges, like yourself, are unique, we will try to answer, as best we can, anything you would care to ask. Or you may merely wish to converse, or exchange ideas, or add a pertinent suggestion to one of our projects. These are all welcome. From our standpoint, you would become a known friend even before we meet.

GUEST WEEK

During Guest Week you can actually see and feel the pulse of the lifestyle we have created and continue to improve in Stelle. You live with us in our homes, dine with us, work with us, learn with us, and laugh with us. You observe how we govern ourselves, create occupations, educate our children, educate ourselves, build our homes, plan our growth, and most importantly, how we relate with each other. It is during this short, full week that the excitement and awe of what we are beginning is conveyed. It is your opportunity to know with greater certainty if this is where you really wish to come. For us, it is an opportunity to meet “face to face” with you, and to measure our compatibilities.

STELLE HOUSING FUND

With The Stelle Group’s announcement of the Nonresident-Associate Program also comes the formal announcement of the initiation of the Stelle Housing Fund. The Stelle Housing Fund has been specifically designed to assist the new Nonresident-Associates of Stelle to begin now to recover their assets presently invested in stocks, insurance policies, savings accounts, and even single-family homes that may be located in unsafe geological or urban areas and begin to reinvest those funds in residential housing in Stelle.

In addition to having your funds in a “safe place,” investments now will allow you, as a Nonresident-Associate, to invest in high quality housing for yourself at today’s construction costs. New construction for housing in Stelle costs an average of $32 per square foot at the present time. This figure will be revised from time to time to reflect the actual costs of construction. At the presently acknowledged rate of inflation of 13.2% per annum, this would mean an increase in construction costs of at least $3 to $4 per square foot within a year or sooner. This can mean a significant savings for the person who seriously intends to move here at some future time.

It is our intent to have all housing, as well as factories and equipment, owned by a Stelle organization rather than be privately or individually owned. The rental rate for a residential unit would provide a savings to the person who has invested money in the Stelle Housing Fund. For an easy example, if a person invests $32,000 at a $32 square-foot rate, then he would be able to live in a 1000 square-foot residential unit at a minimum cost (which covers maintenance, real estate taxes, and a nominal management fee.)

Stelle has many donors and investors who support the community because of their concern about the success of the Brotherhoods’ Great Plan to establish the Nation of God, but who may never be able to physically participate here. The investor who expects to physically participate here at some future date must clearly understand that his acceptance into the community will depend upon his character and personality, and his investment will not guarantee him a place in Stelle. However, any person may withdraw his investment based upon prearranged terms.

PERSONAL PREPAREDNESS

In The Ultimate Frontier, Dr. White mentions “the economic and political strife that will plague the United States and the rest of the world for the two decades prior to the coming inundation ...” This is becoming more evident every month. We therefore feel it is prudent that everyone who wants to participate in Stelle engage in a personal preparedness plan. If an unexpectedly-hurried assimilation is called for on account of the national economic situation, your minimum needs for survival can thus be met. Personal Preparedness, Stelle’s newsletter publication, will give you the information you will need in order to set up your preparedness program.

TESTING THE LAW OF TITHES

When you give a “tenth-part” of your income to furthering God’s work, you are not only striving for financial karmic balance, but are putting the Law of Increase into effect as well. We want you to be prosperous. We want Stelle to prosper and grow. Testing the Law of Tithes through the support of The Stelle Group will do both. Nonresident-Associates will be expected to test this law now if they are not already doing so.

ANNUAL RECEPTION AND SEMINAR

Once a year, Stelle will host a weekend reception for all the Nonresident-Associates. This will be an opportunity to “touch bases” with the physical Stelle—to see many of the things you’ve read about over the last year, and to also learn new developments. It will be a time to say hello again to all the new friends you made at Guest Week.

SURVEYS

Nonresident-Associates will complete a Skills-and-Resources Survey Form and a Housing-and-Educational-Needs Questionnaire. The information provided will be used by The Stelle Group in planning for the smooth assimilation of new members by accurately projecting needs. The Skills-and-Resources Survey will tell us what you are bringing with you, and the Housing-and-Educational-Needs Form will tell us what you will need from us when you arrive.

HOW DO YOU APPLY?

Application forms for the Nonresident-Associate Program may be obtained by requesting them from The Stelle Group. Nonresident-Associate candidates will also write an essay stating his reasons for wishing to participate. Acceptance for the Nonresident-Associate Program is based on the same criteria we use for applicants wishing to join Stelle now. Given the acceptance of this preliminary application, you will receive an extensive questionnaire (in lieu of the usual interview and testing).

HOW MUCH DOES THE INVESTMENT IN THE NONRESIDENT-ASSOCIATE PROGRAM COST?

There is a $25 (nonrefundable) application fee and a monthly service fee to cover the cost of the materials provided. This latter cost is adjustable because you may already have some of the materials, such as the On Becoming an Initiate tape series and Personal Preparedness newsletter. You would also have Guest Week participation expenses, and whatever you choose to contribute to your housing fund. As a Nonresident-Associate, you will be allowed discounts on all Stelle publications and products.

This is our Nonresident-Associate Program. We are very excited about it, and hope that you share this excitement also. In closing, may we reiterate two passages from our brochure, Stelle. We feel they describe the essence of what we hope to accomplish with this new program.

“To assist in the building of Stelle is perhaps the most exciting adventure ever offered you, and the deep personal satisfactions afforded by such an undertaking are great rewards in themselves. But the building of one’s own Egoic advancement is even more thrilling, for thereby you experience an intensification of life that leads to unimaginable participation-in-depth with all Existence. As you put into practice the principles you learn in Stelle, you achieve understanding, creativity, and the means for personal control over your environment. You have the practical opportunity to put information about Universal Law to work so that you may make it tested, unshakable knowledge.”

“By means of Orientation Seminars at Stelle, The Stelle Group provides direction for its new members on how to prepare themselves for life in Stelle. This consists of a review of the philosophy to assure that members in Stelle have no misunderstanding about basic principles, and it also concerns one’s personal acquisition of the Virtues.”

The Nonresident-Associate Program is designed to permit you to immediately begin to accelerate your own Egoic advancement by studying the education/philosophical materials provided, and by practicing the philosophy. It is our sincere hope that the program will meet the needs of the many thousands of individuals who are sincerely interested in the Brotherhoods’ Philosophy and the Great Plan who, for one reason or another, are unable to participate as a Resident Associate of The Stelle Group at the present time. If you are one of these individuals, you are cordially invited to apply for acceptance in the Nonresident-Associate Program.
