Stelle Perspective A meeting was held on July 24th to
provide parents the opportunity to meet with members of The Stelle Group
Board of Education and to introduce Miss Carroll English who will, to the
teacher in The Stone Elementary School. One of the key points made during the
discussion was that schools are the tools of the parents. As such, any school
can be only as good as the ideas behind it. The aim of The Stelle Elementary
School is to develop a child’s individuality. He will not be required to
compete against others, as in the present system, but rather to outdo his own
accomplishments. Such self-directed learning helps a child develop
confidence, common sense and the ability to think and to reason. All of these
tools are necessary for him to participate effectively in adult society. Persons who had expressed an interest in
learning more about the school were mailed a copy of the brochure, “The
Stelle Elementary School, Education for the New Age,” which describes the
facilities of the school and outlines the ideas on which it is being founded.

1st at 8:00 p.m., at Your Contributions Appreciated The challenges of creating the educational
system for the New Age are many and varied. During the past six months The
Stole Group Board of Education has worked diligently in meeting these
challenges with enthusiasm. The work has been exciting and rewarding for all
those involved. Many persons have contributed ideas,
materials, equipment, money, and personal assistance. We are grateful to
those who have realized that it will tale all of these things for the school
to succeed. Members of The Stelle Group as well as members of The Lemuria
Builders and other friends have given generously, and we extend our gratitude
and appreciation to all of them. The response to our request for pledges
and donations has been good, but we are still short of realizing our goal. If
only a few hundred our many thousands of friends would regularly contribute
$1.00 per month, we could fulfill our financial requirements. We also welcome contributions of
materials such as encyclopedias, educational toys, workbooks, textbooks,
reading books, art and craft materials, and school furniture. These may be
sent directly to The Stole Elementary School, Student Applications Being Accepted Applications for admission of students to
The Stelle Elementary School are now being accepted. in addition to filing
the application form, a personal interview between the parents, the student
and the Board of Education is prerequisite to student acceptance. Parents are
urged to make application soon, for the school will be opening in just a few
short weeks. |
