Guest Week It was probably
one of the most rewarding weeks of my life. Every question I could come up
with was answered satisfactorily. I finally feel I
really, know what it’s like to live in Stelle. I felt a peacefulness and a “letting go,” an acceptance of both
myself and Stelle. I felt very
welcomed and comfortable... The week
was over … Stelle’s first Guest Week; the comments were overwhelmingly
positive. Overwhelming … a good word to also describe
the week. So much in so short a time period!
Beginning their six-day visit on September 3, our guests enjoyed a variety
of sensations—an experiencing of Stelle. For this was their reason for
coming: to better acquaint themselves with the daily
manner of life in Stelle. The
philosophy of the Brotherhoods, which pervades every
aspect of living in Stelle, was the initial focal point. Seminars and special
presentations were given on the Great Plan of the
Brotherhoods and Stelle’s role within it. Philosophical questions were aired and answered by Richard Kieninger. The
philosophy at work in our structure of self-government and the Lemurian
economic system was explained. Our guests
were able to visit Stelle’s learning centers, and through a one-way viewing
minor, they could enjoy the spontaneous actions of three-year-olds as they
conveyed their joy in learning. Teachers in the upper grades shared their
techniques and educational goals for their students. An all-day seminar
absorbed our guests in the finer points of the Twelve Great Virtues, self-esteem,
self-awareness, and the Ten Lemurian Laws—so many tools for Initiation! To balance
the deluge of information (much of which the guests would have to assimilate
later), physical activity was interspersed, for this’ is an important part of
Stelle, too—the actual “building” of our city. Guests and members formed work
parties and labored side-by-side on community projects such as landscaping,
harvesting, light construction, and food packaging for our grocery mart. The
highlights of the week, experienced together by guests and members, included
our sharing of each other. Living with a family (or a group of “singles”),
dining with familiar and new faces, in-depth, all-engrossing conversations,
and the radiance expressed in our faces as we shared high humor and deep
laughter. This was
the essence of Guest Week … a guest’s glimpse of Stelle through experience. Though the community lies serene and calm under the
magnificent span of sky, our guests left knowing that Stelle is a community
living intensely, devoting its lifeforce to God’s Great Plan on the Plaines.
