The Stelle Group Guest Program _____________ STELLE
ANNOUNCES NEW FORMAT Since
its successful initiation in 1978, Stelle’s Guest Week Program has attracted
a variety of persons from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of
interest in The Stelle Group. In recognition of these differences, along with
a review of the effectiveness of Guest Week upon its participants, The Stelle
Group is pleased to announce the advent of a new Guest Weekend and a newly-revised Guest Week. Following is a description
of each program. _____________ I feel that Guest Week provided for me
the first real opportunity to experience the spirit and working philosophy of
Stelle. Until then I had only an intellectual concept of Stelle and the Brotherhoods’ Plan which fell far short of what you
are actually doing at Stelle. To see the honesty, openness, and helpfulness
of the members is a wonderful thing. GUEST WEEK If
you are seriously interested in Stelle, and especially if you are considering
applying to The Stelle Group now or in the future, we highly recommend the
expanded Guest Week program. Its agenda provides an intense introduction into
the nature of Stelle—the lifestyle, the people who live here and who are
committed to the furthering of the Great Plan, the Brotherhoods’ philosophy
upon which the community is founded, and Richard Kieninger, author of The Ultimate Frontier and founder of
the Stelle community. The
possibility of requiring participation as a prerequisite to Resident Associateship is being seriously considered as a result of the great success with which Guest Week
attendees have integrated themselves into the community. Many former Guest
Week participants who are now Resident Associates have said that they feel
Guest Week should be a requirement for acceptance into The Stelle Group. We
have seen a dramatically increased ability to function optimally in The
Stelle Group by Guest Week graduates as compared to individuals who have not
attended Guest Week. Designing
a program especially for those at you who are seriously interested in
learning about the philosophy and life in Stelle will permit us to coordinate
seminars directed more specifically to that purpose. There
are other significant advantages to the expanded program and the suggestion
that participation be required of prospective Resident Associates. These
include the fact that the program enables the Membership Committee and
Stelle participants to become better acquainted with Stelle. I feel that Guest Week was one of the
most important events in my life. It confirmed my feelings about what I
thought Stelle would be like. The people were all extremely friendly and
helpful and they made me feel like part of the community for the week I was
there. It was wonderful! All my questions that I had then were answered but ...
now that I’m home I have a million more! Stelle gave
me a good idea of where I want our family to go in the 80’s. It initiated
many positive changes here in our lives now that we’re
home. Through
participation in Guest Week, prospective applicants start establishing
friendship links with other individuals in the community. This greatly
enhances the move to Stelle, as it provides the important emotional support
they need to successfully make such a dramatic
change in their lives. The
program gives new participants an overview of what Stelle
is all about and the philosophy as interpreted by Stelle. When the
participants go back home and prepare to move to Stelle, they are already
accommodating the new ideas presented at Guest Week. Some
readers of The Ultimate Frontier develop
an exaggerated view of the requirements for becoming a participant of The
Stelle Group Participation in Guest Week will enable you to experience the
sense of community created thus far and to decide whether you desire to share
in it with us. If you are considering applying for membership in The Stelle
Group, and would like to have your interview with the Membership Committee
during Guest Week, you may submit your application along with your
reservation for Guest Week. If you have a family and are
applying for membership, please be sure that your entire family is
present for the interview. I feel much
closer to Stelle now that I have had the opportunity to be on the site for a
week and actually talk with the people there. I was really
impressed with most of those I met, far above average, with high
standards and positive personal outlooks and attitudes. It is refreshing to
associate with so many superior individuals who are making real efforts to
improve themselves. Of
course Guest Week is not only for those individuals
who have made a definite decision to apply for Resident Associateship
in The Stelle Group. It is also for those people who would like the maximum
amount of information available about Stelle before making a decision. The many potential benefits from coming to a Guest
Week Program are perhaps best presented within the comments by former
participants. If

application forms. I feel
extremely good about Guest Week and Stelle, My
expectations were exceeded in many respects, particularly the people I met.
Guest Week was everything I hoped it would be. It was an opportunity to
experience Stelle firsthand. I highly recommend the experience. THE GUEST WEEKEND PROGRAM In
order to respond to the needs of those of you whose interest in The Stelle
Group is less serious than that expected of a Guest Week participant, we have
developed a new Guest Weekend program. The abbreviated agenda provides much
more general information than the level of comprehensive information offered
during Guest Week. Thank you
for a very beautiful week while I was in Stelle and for the abundant
hospitality bestowed to me and other Guest Week visitors. I enjoyed every
moment being there, experiencing first-hand the beginnings of the new
culture and the new way of life. It was one of the most
exciting and most enjoyable times in my life I have ever experienced. Unquestionably I am not the same person as prior to my
week in Stelle, for I can feel that lam a changed person since my visit. All
the books and literature that I have read through have helped me change and
grow, but it was seeing Stelle, its people and the philosophy put into action
that made the most impact on me. Stelle and the Brotherhoods’
philosophy are not something I just read about anymore. It really does exist
and has life. It was the people there and how they relate to each other that was so impressive. And the
children’s attitude toward one another was something I couldn’t get over. Guest
Weekend is for those of you who would like to visit for two-and-one-half days
and discover a little more about Stelle and the Brotherhoods’
philosophy. A variety of seminars and presentations are scheduled to provide a basic introduction to the many aspects of
Stelle. There will also be a social event held with Stelle residents. Because
we anticipate more people wishing to attend Guest Weekend than we can
presently accommodate in Stelle homes, we invite you to make early
reservations. However, if you are interested in attending
Guest Weekend but would prefer to stay in a motel in We would
like to offer our heart-felt thanks for sharing your community and yourselves
with us during Guest Week. The sincerity and hospitality shown us at every
turn has left a lasting and pleasant impression. After only one short week,
leaving Stelle, like leaving home, was indeed an emotional effort. Such a
fond attachment is due entirely to you, the individuals of Stelle; from our
host family who provided direct support, to the members we never even saw,
contributing their positive mental energies. We are grateful to all of you!! Our thoughts are with you on a continuing basis, and we
are looking forward, with great expectation, to the day we’ll
join you there permanently. |
