ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE We are pleased to announce
the opening of The Stelle School, grades 1 through 8, on September 5, 1968 at The Lemuria Builders
Clubhouse, 3410 W. Montrose, Chicago, Illinois. This decision is in answer to
serious concern on the part of members of The Stelle Group and The Lemuria
Builders who feel the urgency of providing a stimulating yet peaceful
learning atmosphere for our children. The basic purpose of the
school is to train each child to control his own environment and to help him
develop the tools for Egoic advancement. Aggressive behavior engendered by
most of today’s highly competitive school situations will
be diminished. Our feeling is that children need to develop a sense of
the intrinsic joy of learning and an understanding and love of his fellow
man. To achieve this, the school
will encourage self-direction and individual interest. Emphasis will be placed on realization of intelligent citizenship
and moral responsibility as well as physical development and social
awareness. Class size will not exceed 20 pupils per teacher so as to insure sufficient individual attention. The
students will be guided to initiate and complete projects of personal interest which they will share with the class as a whole.
Inasmuch as one clarifies his thinking in the process of teaching another,
children will be encouraged to help each other and be
allowed to discover the joy of teaching. The teacher will serve as a
catalyst who functions as a guide and resource person.
Discussion of religious and philosophical issues and prayer will be dealt with appropriately in an open manner when it
arises. In summary, the school is designed to accomplish what parents want from a grade
school—happy, well-adjusted boys and girls trained in fundamental skills and
able to seek and find answers. These qualities prepare them to meet the
challenges of adolescence and adult life. The experienced, qualified
teacher is a member of The Stelle Group, and special
assistants will be brought in by the teacher as needed. It is expected that mutually supportive parent-teacher
relationships will also be cultivated. In keeping with the tenor
of the Plan of the Brotherhoods for helping all
Mankind to advance, The Stelle School is open to children of the members of
The Stelle Group and The Lemuria Builders as well as those of anyone who is
in sympathy with the principles of THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER. A tentative rate of $12.50
per week per child has been set as the maximum tuition charge. In order to substantially lower this rate, we are
soliciting regular contributions from members and interested friends. We
believe that persons who perceive the value of the Work of the
Brotherhoods will recognize the importance of The Stelle School and
will want to contribute to this first major project of The Stelle Group. Please send the form below
if you are interested in further information on The Stelle School. – –
