Violet Screen Meditation
The violet screen meditation can serve as a way for your Egoic consciousness to be in touch with and to directly use the more elementary parts of your brain to the furtherance of possibly achieving mystic awareness. The meditation diminishes the busy internal dialogue going on inside your adult cortex, whenever you are awake. Small children are not troubled by this incessant brain-chatter and so they are more body-centered than rationally oriented. By quieting your busy, noisy cortex through meditation, you put yourself more in touch with your mid-brain and archaic brain. Some people find meditating a bit disorienting in that it shuts out the familiar cortex dialogue, which, in many cases, is keeping self doubts and guilty memories suppressed. This then can give raise to anxiety and tension. If this occurs, stop meditating until the underlying neuroses have been rooted out. In any case, meditating is no guarantee generator of mystic awareness any more than any technique is.
