Vibrational Quality of Plant and Animal Foods

Richard was asked for an explanation of why vegetarianism is discouraged in THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER in that there are vegetarians who seem as strong and healthful as persons who eat meat. In answering, the definition of vegetarianism was clarified first, since some strict vegetarians eat no animal products of any kind while others condone dairy products and eggs. Richard said that there is quite a difference, for the latter diet includes considerable more bodybuilding proteins. Very few bodies are able to extract enough protein from strictly vegetable food, and this can result in physical damage and mental aberrations. Ironically, the reason given by some vegetarians for not eating meat—that flesh is of low vibration and spiritually harmful—is totally invalid. The life essence of the vegetable kingdom vibrates at a lower nutational rate than the life essence of the animal kingdom, and the vibrations of any food ingested do not affect the spiritual growth of an individual. The human body was designed to function most efficiently on a balanced diet of both animal and vegetable products.

Since each body has its own unique nutritional needs, it seems wisest for each person to eat what he finds most beneficial. (08-1969)

Does Killing Animals Produce Negative Energy Food?

Question:     My question concerns diet. Many believe that killing an animal is a violent act and that animals violently killed emit negative vibrations into their flesh which is then absorbed into the system of those eating this flesh.

Answer:       As you probably know, all the carnivores in the world obviously have to eat other animals, otherwise they would not be carnivores. All carnivores then, are apparently eating flesh poisoned by fear. But, once the meat reaches the digestive tract, all the vibrations associated with life or the emotions are completely lost by the time it is broken down to just pure chemicals. The villi in the intestines cannot absorb a cell; so each cell must be broken down into dissociated molecules. By the time food of any sort is ingested into whatever creature ate it, the only thing that can be absorbed into that creature is chemicals — not life essence.

Now, it is true that when an animal is killed in flight and he is running away from his pursuer, he will have more adrenalin in his system; this affects rigor mortis and prevents proper bleeding necessary for the storing of meat. This doesn’t affect a carnivore which eats its kill immediately, but to store meat, you must first bleed the animal or else the flavor of the meat will be affected. The constriction or hardening of some of the muscles of an animal that is killed in fear alters the quality of the meat only if it is to be stored. Modern slaughtering methods are very humane and the animal does not know what will happen and therefore is not fearful.

There are a lot of pros and cons on the use of meat in different diets relative to spiritual advancement. My knowledge, and from the teachings that have been given to me, is that man in order to function properly must have balanced diets, and man’s body has been distinctly evolved to have a body that is de signed to eat meat. We have the shorter digestive tract, the acid content, and the enzymes that are distinctly designed for digestion of meat. Now, it is true that we can survive on a protein-starved diet after the second year of life, and there are so many people throughout the world who do it. They age prematurely, their intelligence is stunted, and their productivity is limited. But they too must have a protein diet, especially milk, during their first two years of infancy so their brain can develop. Ii a child receives limited animal protein the first two years of his life, and especially the first six months, you will have a child who is stunted mentally throughout life. Even birds that are grain eaters, feed their babies a diet almost strictly of protein (insects). This same sort of principle goes for all of the higher life forms. It has been noted for a long time that people who eat meat have more stamina and energy. It is possible that by eating large quantities of amino acids available in plant foods, we can get essentially the equivalent of what you can get from meat; however, you would have to eat almost all day long in order to get some of the basic amino acids that are comparatively rare in plants. Herbivore animals are able to convert these plant amino acids into special proteins that are very beneficial to human beings.

Now there are people who are understandably very tender hearted about killing animals; and if that is the case, there are ways that they can partially make up for not eating meat by eating eggs, cheese, and the various milk products.

But, when people get the idea that there are base vibrations in animals which cause them to be deprived of spiritual advancement by eating that meat, then they are a hundred percent off base. (11-1972)
