Has Western Technology Gotten “Out of hand?” Question: Do
you believe that the technology of our society has gotten out of hand? Answer: No, but sometimes the people who control
it have.
Technology cannot do anything until people direct it to do something.
Machines are not taking over by any means. A machine cannot do anything
unless it is ultimately programmed by a human being.
What we have to do is educate man to be more civil
rather than eliminate machines to keep him from being uncivil. Technology
serves man; and since we must learn to have total control over our
environments, technology can help us to do this. (03-1973) |
