Does Stelle Practice Hatha or Rajah
Yoga? Question: Do you and/or your group practice any form
of self-realization such as Hatha Yoga or Rajah Yoga? Would you comment on
your evaluation of these various techniques? Answer: It
is hard for me to comment except on a hearsay basis because only Rajah Yoga
is close to the sort of thing we are involved in.
Hatha Yoga we avoid. It is hard to give a fair evaluation when you know one
but don’t know the other. Rajab Yoga is more of an
intellectual pursuit as a means of finding union between your physical
conscious sell and your greater Egoic identity which
exists on another plane and another level of consciousness. These, of course,
exist simultaneously, but the brain limits awareness of all the things that
the Mind knows on other planes of existence. Until such
time as you impress something on your brain it is not a reality to the
physical consciousness. Rajah Yoga is more applicable to our way of doing
things, because inasmuch as the Ego is a package of Mind power created by
God, it seems that intellectual pursuits make the Mind grow even greater. We
use our brain in our physical experiences to enlarge the Mind’s accumulation
of knowledge. Hatha Yoga is beneficial as far as the
physical exercises for a strong healthy body. The areas which we try to avoid
in what Hatha Yoga teaches is in the area where through special breathing
exercises or through contemplation of certain plexi of the autonomic nervous
system one can cause a sort of imbalance that allows a momentary rapport
between one’s Egoic consciousness and brain consciousness. There are a number
of dangers involved in this sort of thing. Because of these dangers and
because at all times it requires the presence of a teacher who is very adept
at knowing the danger signs in Hatha Yoga, we avoid it completely. Because it
takes many years of practice to make a breakthrough in Hatha Yoga, we think
the time is better spent on Egoic advancement which
is retained forever rather than seeking a momentary rapport between one’s two
levels of consciousness. Rajah Yoga gives rise to a surer and permanent
breakthrough by virtue of real advancement. (04-1973) |
