Are There Other “Stelle-Like” Cities? Another
question was whether there are other cities similar to Stelle in other parts
of the world—in How Do
Other Communities Fit In? Q: What role do you see other New Age
organizations, such as Findhorn, having in the future? Will they be a part of
the cities like RK: I think we are all part of a network which
needs to be kept up kind of currently in our communications with one another.
But, each organization has a very specific appeal to a certain personality
type or what an individual wants to do. That is why there are so many of them
and why there will continue to be many forms of appeal. As a matter of fact,
each of the seven Lesser Brotherhoods has a specific type of individual that
they plant them their introductory information to. There are some who are
very practical and some are very spiritual and they need to be balanced in
the other direction. Yet, they have to, in order to get a very spiritual
person on the road to practicality, they have to appeal to his spiritual
views. You cannot teach somebody something unless you have their attention,
and that is what They have to do. The things with people who are very
practical they need to move more toward the spiritual end of the spectrum,
but you have to deal with them on the practical side because that is what
appeals to them. Once you have them beginning to understand what you are
trying to promote, you start moving them in the way they are supposed to go.
Each of these communities have the same kind of different function, at least
to get many kinds of people involved in a community type of experience. Of
course, most of them are really quite different in not only in their
philosophy but in their way of operation. We are very much in the
self-determination through our democratic process here, and others do not
have that option even a little bit. That apparently is of value to certain
types of individuals. So, it is not for us to “knock” what others are doing,
but rather to help one another to get, perhaps, other people interested in
starting their own communities. (01-1983) |
