Can Stelle Members Belong to a Church?

Question:     Will people who come into Stelle have to give up their affiliation with the church they have belonged to?

Answer:       Most people in The Stelle Group have become disillusioned with the theology offered by the church with which they were associated; however, participation in the familiar customs of worship services may continue to be comforting and enjoyable to these individuals. The Stelle Group is not a religion—it is a philosophy and a spiritual community. Those wishing to attend church services will certainly be free to travel to houses of worship. There will be no churches in the city of Stelle. (As stated on page 6 of the brochure, “Stelle, A City For Tomorrow”, “... a fellowship hall for regular Sunday gatherings of its members will be provided by The Stelle Group. This building can also serve as a center for social functions. It is also proper that in association with this building a certain place be especially consecrated for those who wish to come for meditation and prayer.”) (04-1971)
