How Will Stelle Preserve the Fine Arts? Question: What
will The Stelle Group do about preserving the fine arts? Answer: We
have to be resigned to the fact that the vast
majority will be destroyed. However, our beautiful paintings would have
deteriorated within a couple of centuries anyway. We do have photographs of
them. Knowledge of the artistry will be preserved, but the originals, which
of course have tremendous value as a collector’s
item will probably be lost. The level of ad represented can nonetheless be
kept in photographs and be duplicated over and over again. Question: Will
you teach your children about art? Answer: Yes,
they are taught appreciation of the fine arts.
However, we are not trying to make them all artists per se; for when a person is an artist, there is no way to beat
it out of him, and he will become one whatever he must overcome. That is what
it takes to be a great artist. The ability to relate to ad materials is
something that our children are exposed to. We will
give the children the opportunities, but I guess we will have to wait for a
Rembrandt to reincarnate into our Group. (09-1973) |
