Was Rudolph Steiner a Brother? Q: Do you think that Rudolph Steiner was a Brother? RK: I really do not know if he was or not. Rudolph Steiner was kind of a puzzle. Not much has been given to me directly by any of my Teachers as to what his status was. He was primarily a Theosophist, but he obviously had studied a lot of things other than Theosophy and was quite learned in some kind of mystical practices. He seemed to be quite effective at it personally. Unfortunately, he still held, through his lifetime, the concept that some races were superior to other races particularly the idea of the Aryans. Hitler picked up the idea of Aryans being the next root-race which was supposed to evolve with the next “inbreathing” of the earth so that it would create yet another higher level of humanist experience. Unfortunately, there were almost no Aryans living in Germany and so Hitler said, “Well, okay, we will say that the Aryans are Nordics.” So, if anybody was the Nordic you could be considered one of those who was going to be uplifted to the next root-race. At any rate, Mr. Steiner did hold to those ideas. He created some really good ideas so far as rearing children are concerned in their education. He established the Waldorf Schools in Germany. And, he worried Hitler a lot so Hitler managed to “scoot him out” of Germany.
