Doesn’t God Provide All of Our Needs? Question: I
feel that there are incongruities between your feelings about work and the
sayings in the Bible that say God will provide all one needs. Answer: Certainly
God will take care of you, but you have to do certain things. You cannot jump
off a cliff and say, “God will take care of me.” Good sense has to be used. God obviously provides all of the tools and all
of the means for energies—everything that is necessary for success. It would
have been foolish for Him to put us here on Earth and then deprive us of the
necessary tools and energy to carry out His plan. So, obviously, He
provides everything that is necessary. But, He never said just sit down and
everything will be taken care of. There are many people, however, who believe
just that. It is a Hindu concept that to raise a finger in any effort to feed
yourself is a slap in the face to God Who will provide everything through
proper prayer. Of course, Hindus die in large numbers, but they still believe
that. (10-1973) |
