Reincarnation: An Overview I know that I have heard many people say, “Well, I didn’t ask to be
born. I don’t want to be here. Why should I have to
put up with all these troubles and what have you? The fact is that you did
it. You decided what nation you would be born in, at what time, into which
race, and what economic conditions there would be in the family you
incarnated into. And the location can certainly
determine to a great extent what kind of experiences
you are going to have and what kind of work is likely to be available to you.
Obviously, if you incarnate into a rural society in an agrarian culture, you
are going to be a farmer or something closely allied to that. If you are born
into a highly technological society at a time when
technology is highly developed, then you are likely to be an engineer or
involved in some way with that society’s technology. You determine all that.
You are given total free choice with assistance in
picking out your parents. Indeed, those people who will become your parents
were individuals with whom you made that arrangement before they incarnated.
Along with those who were going to be your brothers and sisters. Courage and wisdom are the byproducts of meeting these challenges of
life head-on. We, eventually become masters of our fate
rather than the victims of circumstances around us. When you feel in
control, life gets to be much more enjoyable. But, it seems strange that the
more things we learn how to do, the bigger the challenges are that come our
way, and yet they don’t seem any more difficult than a child learning how to
tie a bow in his shoelaces. We have learned how to do so many difficult
things that we are then allowed to take on really major
challenges. Perhaps one day we may become a great statesman
or a president of a great country as a result of all the things we have
learned in prior incarnations preparing us for this kind of accumulation of
skills. |
