Do Past-Life Traits Carry-Over? Question: Are
some of our talents and character traits brought with us from past lifetimes? Answer: Artistic
or musical talents developed in past lifetimes may remain with us through
subsequent incarnations. These talents must be encouraged in the child by his
parents or teachers, however, if his abilities are to be recognized and brought forth in a particular lifetime. Environment is a
powerful influence. An Ego may incarnate into a civilization where the social
mores are totally opposed to the ones which
prevailed in his most recent incarnation. Therefore, much of our learning
from past lifetimes must be closed to us so that we
may cope with new conditions and requirements. Kindliness or a sense of
justice learned ma past civilization may continue to manifest in a person’s
character, or an individual may continue to be rather cruel regardless of his
environment. Most of our more admirable character traits were
learned during our incarnations into the Lemurian Civilization.
Unknowingly, we continue to hark back to a vague desire to return there and
recreate the better way that we knew then. (02-1971) |
