What Is the Purpose of Meditation?

Q:      In thinking of a saying or phrase that you want to have given that it is—

RK:    Essentially, that becomes a concentration exercise which is still good. Many people get into meditation for two main reasons and I think both of these are valid. One is to quiet yourself and the other is to get in touch with the conscious portions of your brain and the vast amount of information that you have stored there from all the things that have happened to you in the past but which just do not go through your consciousness, normally speaking, during the day. The latter exercise of getting in touch with your subconscious is one which can begin toward Mystic Awareness which ultimately is why most people go into meditative types of exercises: to increase the possibility of mystic experiences and Astral awareness as time goes by.
