During the Babylonian captivity, there was a pre-Masonic group which held together the identity of the Jewish people during the time of the captivity and were the heroes, as it were, of binding things together, keeping alive, in a secret way, the mysteries of the Brotherhoods while they were in captivity and maintaining the identity of the Jews while they were in their captivity.
