An Ego Is Never Destroyed Another
question was whether an Ego is ever destroyed. Richard answered that an Ego
once created is never destroyed. “Ego” means an individualized discrete
bundle of God powers which are mental An Ego at creation has all the
potential powers and qualities that God has, as well as immortality, but the
powers are not yet developed. The purpose of life is to develop these mental
potentials and at the same time help each other in all ways that are
non-interfering and constructive. Whether decarnate or incarnate, an Ego is
the same and his existence is continuous. (09-1969) A
question arose concerning Richard’s statement that once an Ego is created it
is never destroyed. A man suggested the statement was contradictory since
lack of destruction would simply lack of creation. Richard said it was
important to understand what is meant by “creation of a soul.” He explained
how at the progression of the life waves the nutational frequency of each
plane of existence is stepped up one octave, that is, doubled. Therefore, the
life essence which had vitalized animal life became the essence for human
life and was given over to Celestial Intelligence for further refinement. The
new human life essence was given all the powers of Mind that God has—unused,
untested and undeveloped, but potentially having all the mental ability
inherent in God. The human life essence was then divided into halves, male
and female, and from this point it was formed into the discreet bundles of
mental energy which constitute individual Egos. These Egos have the powers of
Mind to become one with God. Once the individual is thus created it is never
destroyed. However, if an Ego does not attain Mastership by the end of a life
wave, all his Egoic memory is wiped out, and the blanked Ego is held in
abeyance until the next creation takes place. It is never destroyed. Memory
is one of the powers of Mind and is required to accumulate knowledge. (11-1979) |
