Violet
Screen Meditation By Richard Kieninger In
one's haste to develop the emotional maturity and spiritual abilities
necessary to achieve Initiation, the path can be precarious. We must
carefully analyze all methods we are introduced to in order to avoid the
pitfalls which can lead to a lifetime of wasted effort. Among
the seven qualifications for Brotherhood, one is the attainment of cosmic
consciousness. Cosmic consciousness is the combined abilities of controlled
clairvoyance and mystic awareness. Clairvoyance is defined as “clear seeing.”
By controlled clairvoyance, we mean that one has developed the ability to
“turn on” his clairvoyance at will, so that it is self-controlled. Then
clairvoyance no longer occurs randomly; it no longer just “happens to” the
aspirant to initiation, but becomes a tool for his use at will. A clairvoyant
is able to see and learn some things about Egos on the Astral Plane. The best
and safest methods to attain controlled clairvoyance are to advance yourself
by attaining a balanced and refined character. When you are spiritually
advanced enough, you will automatically become clairvoyant. It has many
benefits, such as the ability to judge character of both living persons and
discarnate Egos by their auras and the opportunity to have limited
communication with Egos not in incarnation. Clairvoyance
should be clearly distinguished from mystic awareness, which is a brain state
characterized by neurologic interconnections between all the major centers of
the brain, especially the cerebellum, neocortex and limbic system. This state
permits an expanded mode of processing information so as to gain insights
into the nature of reality beyond the reach of having only cortex processes
available for reasoning and awareness. The
mystic state is most safely enhanced through the use of Violet Screen
meditation. Mystic awareness makes full use of our brain power. It's an
altered state of consciousness, achieved naturally, in which the cortex is
briefly (for thirty seconds to several minutes) integrated with the lower
portions of the brain, allowing intuitive understanding of various aspects of
the Universe. Altogether, cosmic consciousness gives Brothers fuller and more
magnificent perception of the Universe as it really is. What
is Violet Screen meditation and how does one go about it? Meditation is used
to still the chatter in one's brain and is very effective in creating a
relaxed state. If used improperly, however, it can also cause one to become
subject to interference from nether entities. Meditation “without seed,” or
in other words, without focus, allows negative spirits to plant thoughts or
pictures into one's brain through the lowering of one's threshold of
resistance. If one is intently focusing on something, such as the color
violet, while simultaneously disciplining the brain not to allow other
thoughts to intrude, this prevents spirits from being able to impose their
thoughts on our brain. The
color violet is the most easily imagined color—and that's what we're actually
doing in this exercise. We're imagining the color in our mind's eye. It is
beneficial to do this exercise once or twice daily, but for no more than ten
minutes per sitting. Do not consider yourself a failure if you are not
successful in achieving and maintaining the color violet for 5-10 minutes.
The exercise is still beneficial. It is the concentrating and relaxed
alertness that is really of value. 5-10 minutes should be the total time you
take in doing the exercise; it isn't necessary to try for 30 minutes. It
is believed that people with mystic awareness, such as Einstein, break into
clairvoyance because of the intense concentration they so frequently engage in
as they're attempting to resolve the mysteries of the universe and make new
discoveries. The intense concentration is what primes the brain for making
the neural connections necessary in mystic awareness. It is also necessary
for having clear, detailed visualizations when precipitating things or
conditions into our environments. Intellectual techniques such as the Violet
Screen are by far the safest since one's phasing from consciousness to
super-consciousness is then never outside the control of the practicing Ego.
Scientists who have achieved the mystic state did not do so by meditation but
rather by deeply intense cogitation with the desire to penetrate a problem. The
need of theoretical physicists to be able to mentally image the realities of
the construction of the Universe has given impetus to a scientific study of
the unique level of conscious perception found in mystic awareness. This
mental state has been brought out of the esoteric realm of wizards and
metaphysicians into the light of legitimate scientific analysis with
profitable results. The cortex of the human brain is limited in its ability
to perceive reality. Normal, waking consciousness is a brain function that
provides an exclusionary focus of concentration on a set of ideas in
rational, sequential order. The neurological switching mechanism within the
cortex is best likened to a digital computer—a yes-no or on-off circuitry.
Unfortunately, this does not allow a human being to perceive the Universe in
the fullness of its reality. Just as scientists and engineers must turn to
analog computers to solve certain complex problems which human brains could
never practically resolve, there are some scientists at the frontiers of
scientific thought who have by means of their mystic awareness been able to
penetrate the awe-inspiring, improbable, non-rational, beautiful realities of
Creation. The mystics of ages past have been telling us that time, space, and
the atom are fathomable in the brain state of mystic awareness. The
mathematicians and physicists who have been able to thus visualize our
Universe through their specially developed intellects have actually attained
a state of neural integration between the non-conscious “analog” portions of
their brains and the “digital” cortex portions through which waking
consciousness functions. There is no possible way to otherwise experience and
penetrate fourth-dimension concepts, the mechanics of ether, or the vortex
nature of matter and energy. Mystic
awareness involves a re-patterning of neural networks in the brain in order
to attain a previously nonexistent (but always possible) mode of
intercellular communication between our two sub-brains and our conscious
brain. The cortex (the thinking-intellectual part) and the limbic system and
thalamus (the feeling-emotion part) and the medulla oblongata (the
intuition-archaic part) integrate into a “new” whole brain in the individual
who has achieved the mystic state of consciousness. This gives the Ego a new
mode of perception and feeling and provides non-rational (not irrational)
forms of logic which are multi‑level/integrated/simultaneous in
addition to the normal linear/sequential/either-or. Remember, however, that
the brain is not an organ for generating consciousness, but rather is the
instrument of the physical plane through which Egoic consciousness on the
Mental Plane of Existence functions. The only point of direct contact and
interaction between spirit and the physical cosmos is the mind-brain of man.
It is also important to make the distinction that we are not discussing here
the differences between right and left hemisphere brain functions. Brainwave
experimenters have established that mystic awareness is a genuine state of
consciousness rather than merely imagination. Measurable physiological
parameters are observable on the electroencephalograph when accomplished
mystics are monitored during their “trances.” Scientists have learned that
beta waves (14-20 cycles per second) are produced when a person is awake and
responding to external stimuli, alpha waves (8-12 CPS) when the brain is
occupied with its own thoughts, theta waves (4-7 CPS) when the thinker is
conscious neither of his physical self nor of the outside world, and delta
waves (1/2 to 3 1/2 CPS) when the subject is asleep. Mystics produce alpha waves
at a high amplitude of 70-100 micro-volts; and as their mystic state deepens
from alpha to theta, the amplitude remains high, indicating a unique state of
intense mental alertness. Whether
a mystic began as a scientist, ascetic, or occultist, his or her profound
experiences in the state of mystic awareness are reported as overwhelmingly
beautiful and allow visualization of abstract constructs. Mystics tend to be
regarded as aberrant by those who still labor in an un-awakened,
semi-illusory condition of tradition-imposed philosophy and values.
Therefore, a mystic prefers the company of other mystics who can understand
him, and he essentially disappears from general view. Humanistic
psychologists, such as A.H. Maslow, who have been analyzing the components of
true mental health, believe they have found mystics to be the sanest and
healthiest of individuals. The love of the mystic for other people is
non-possessive, cannot be sated, grows with enjoyment, is therapeutic, lacks
anxiety-hostility, permits self-autonomy to both parties, deeply experiences
the other person, and is a beautiful experience. All
Brothers have attuned themselves to further perception of reality through
mystic awareness combined with controlled clairvoyance. Of course, there are
important requisites to becoming a Brother in addition to cosmic
consciousness; and there are no potions or appliances one can use to achieve
any of the requisites. We
can be grateful that the path to spiritual advancement has been cleared for
us and that we don't have to stumble blindly. Violet Screen meditation is a
tool that we can use with confidence, as it is beneficial in every way. |
